Using Electricity To Stop Pain
With
the opioid epidemic killing thousands of people, we need some alternative
options for pain management. I want to talk about 3 that I’ve run
across, two of which I’ve personally experienced. The first is a device
called the Hokomed and it uses electricity to stimulate the healing
process and reduce pain. It was invented in Germany. The second is a Class
IV Laser that penetrates 4 inches into the skin and promotes cell growth
while alleviating pain. As I said, I’ve experienced both these machines
and was quite impressed with the reduction of pain for bursitis and back
pain.
The
third device is called Quell which also uses an electrical current. It’s
been used for stopping hip pain so that hip replacement surgery did not
have to be performed. It can reduce the feelings of pain anywhere in the
body.
So…pain
got you down? Instead of suffering, experiment with these medical devices
to see for yourself if they will stop the pain and keep you away from
having to play drug company and surgery roulette.

Changing The Way We Make Bread
My
wife, Elizabeth Balcar, has been baking her own bread for many years. Her
bread differs from commercial breads in several ways. The most important
difference involves how long she lets the bread rise. Commercial breads
are made to be completed from start to finish which includes letting the
dough rise in 3 hours. With her bread she lets it rise for 18 hours. She
also uses very little yeast plus water and salt. There is no sugar or
other sweetener needed due to the length of time for the rise.
Commercial
breads made from wheat are one of the primary reasons that people have
become gluten intolerant. When you let the dough go through the slow rise
process, the yeast actually digests the gluten making the bread into a
very healthy product. So, how much actual work time does it take Elizabeth
to make her bread. How about a total time over the 18 hours of about 10 to
15 minutes.
I recently
videoed Elizabeth leading a bread baking class. I’ll have to see how the
video came out and if its good enough to edit and publish. If it is,
I’ll let you know when it’s done so you can experience turning bread
back into the staff of life, as it’s been known for millenniums.

The Importance Of Getting Enough Sleep
When
we sleep our brains go into clean-up mode removing toxic substances such
as beta amyloids, which are connected to Alzheimer’s disease, being
flushed out of the brain by cerebrospinal fluid. There is also a type of
cell in the brain called a glia that is involved with this cleansing
process. Since Alzheimer’s has been associated with sleep disturbances
for years, maybe it’s time docs start treating our sleep difficulties as
a means of preventing Alzheimer’s from striking.
If
you aren’t getting enough sleep, then meditation is a way you can
quickly make up the deficit caused by a lack of sleep. As the research has
shown, when you meditate for even 15 minutes you are physiologically going
to a deeper level than even the level you reach when you sleep. In
addition, long-term meditators have been shown to increase the size of
structures in the brain that are related to memory. So…take an active
role in preventing Alzheimer’s by getting enough sleep and adding
meditation to your every day experience.

Another Option to Help You Sleep
According to a study published in the Journal
of Alternative and Complementary Medicine the scent of lavender oil
can help you sleep. The researchers put 30 drops of lavender essential oil
in 1 ounce of jojoba oil and had the participants massage the mixture on
their hands. They found that this improved sleep plus the participants had
an extra bonus of having softer hands. So...rub away and sleep better!

Great
Customer Service Experience
There
is Last week, I had a great customer service experience with Office Depot.
I decided I needed to buy a new Laptop computer. I went an Office Depot
near me the week before Black Friday and went over with Daniel, the tech
person, what was going to be on sale, since the circular was online
already. We selected an HP computer that had 12 gigs of memory to meet my
needs.
On
Black Friday I got to the store a few minutes after it opened to buy the
computer, I got with Daniel and he looked the computer up in the printed
circular and discovered it had been moved over to Online Sales Only. No
big deal, so Daniel went online to order it. He discovered it had been
sold out even though Black Friday had been going on for only around 30
minutes. I wound up buying an HP with 8 gigs of memory.
Over
the weekend I filed an email complaint with Office Depot about what had
happened since the original circular that we looked at online didn’t
list the computer as an Online Only Purchase. The answer I got back from
Office Depot basically said too bad as they don’t guarantee quantity.
The email also suggested I talk to the Store Manager, Scott Schumaker. I
did that this past Wednesday and he told me he’d have to check with his
District Manager, Don Histler.
Two
days later, I got a call from Daniel that they found an unopened box with
the HP Laptop that had 12 gigs of memory. I brought my 8 gig computer in
and they swapped it out for me. It can be unusual today to get great
customer service. Therefore, I would like to thank Scott and Don for going
above and beyond to create a satisfied customer. BTW, I’m typing this
Teplitz report on the new computer!

A Whole Lot Of Research Supporting The Benefits Of
Vitamin D
As of several years ago, tens of thousands of studies have been published
on the powerful effects of Vitamin D. There are also over 800 references
in the medical literature showing that Vitamin D is effective against
cancer. With Winter approaching, you want to get your Vitamin D level
checked to make sure you’re in the optimum range and the only way to do
that is with a blood test. When you get your results back you want your
level of D to be between 50 and 70 ng/ml. If you’re below that level,
you may need to be taking a Vitamin D3 supplement that totals between
5,000 to 7500 IUs of Vitamin D3 per day. Also, make sure you take Vitamin
K2 as it helps Vitamin D work the best in your body.
