Slow Prostate Cancer with Pomegranates |
Researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles, conducted a study with 50 patients who had either surgery or radiation therapy for their prostate cancer. At the start of the study they measured PSA levels, which measure cancer growth (the higher the number the greater the possibility of cancer). Half the group drank 8 ounces of pomegranate juice a day while the other half did not drink any. The controls’ PSA numbers doubled within 15 months. It took those who drank pomegranate juice 54 months to reach that level. |
This means that the pomegranate drinkers took fewer hormones or chemotherapy treatments while having a greater life expectancy. So…if you have prostate cancer, raise your glass and drink your pomegranate juice. |

Kids Don’t Need Ear Tube Surgery |
The second most common surgery in the country is inserting ear-tubes into children’s ears as a way to stop frequent ear infections. Doctors have long feared that repeated ear infections would dampen hearing, and slow language and other developmental learning. However, research conducted by the University of Pittsburgh and published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that the majority of children who did not have tubes inserted had very mild and short-lived hearing loss that didn’t interfere with learning. This finding specifically applies to children ages 3 to 11. |
So…if your child has frequent ear infections, relax and skip the surgery since the risk of hearing loss is very small. Oh yeah, you’ll also save over $3000 for the cost of the surgery! |

FDA Goes Against The Public On Genetically Engineered Foods |
In an article in the Washington Post on Dec 11, 2006, the writer listed some interesting statistics on the American public’s views concerning genetically engineered foods in our food supply. This issue has again come to the surface because the FDA is considering permitting meat and milk from cloned animals to enter our food supply without identifying it on the labels. Most American’s don’t realize that 89% of soybeans, 83% of cotton and 61% of corn is already genetically engineered. This means almost everyone in the US has consumed some gene-altered food even though only 27% of the public supports the marketing of GMO foods. So…if you want to know exactly what you and your family are eating, maybe it’s time to contact your Congressman, Senators and the FDA and tell them to label all GMO foods so you will know what you are eating. |

Whirlpool Baths Can Be Risky |
A study from Texas A&M analyzed the water taken from whirlpool baths at hotels and private homes around the country. After analyzing the water samples, researchers found that 95% of the samples contained fecal bacteria, 81% had fungi and 34% contained potentially lethal Staphylococcus bacteria. This happens because germs grow in the interior pipes and filters that aren’t chemically treated in between uses. When the whirlpool jets are turned on, all that stuff is forced back up into the bath tub where you are relaxing. |
In order to eliminate this health hazard, the researchers recommend that after you take a bath put ½ gallon of vinegar per 50 gallons of water into the tub and then run the jets for a few minutes. The vinegar has anti-microbial qualities that kill germs. While you can do this at home, you might want to avoid taking whirlpool baths at hotels. |

TV Health Reports Aren’t Very Accurate |
A study recently published in the American Journal of Managed Care found that the majority of health reports on TV news shows were inaccurate or contained incomplete information. The shows sometimes even contained advice that was life threatening. It seems that it’s getting harder to know who to trust when you get your health information |

Cancer, Low Energy Electromagnetic Fields and Q-Link |
I recently read a study from Denmark which reported that using cell phones did not appear to cause brain tumors. The study asked 427 people with brain tumors and 822 people without tumors about their cell phone use. The study found no increased risk for brain tumors related to use, frequency of use or number of years used. A reader of the Teplitz Email Report emailed me about whether I would continue to recommend the Q-Link, which is a device I wear and recommend to others. It’s a good question and I want to answer it. |
One of the things the Q-Link does is stop people from being affected by low-energy Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs) which are emitted by anything electronic including cell phones. First of all, I doubt pro golfers would stop using it because they win more tournaments while wearing it. (If you need more information on this you can re-read what I wrote in the December 2006 issue of the Teplitz Email Report at https://teplitz.com/ezine.htm about golfers’ success with the Q-Link.) |
I consider the EMFs coming from cell phones and anything else electronic as a science experiment with all of us the subjects being studied. EMFs never existed on the planet before the invention of electronic gadgets. Now they are all around us. We experience them not only from our cell phone, but also from our computers, TVs, alarm clocks, bed lamps and even our car engines. |
Just because the Denmark study found no connection between brain tumors and cell phones doesn’t mean that other effects don’t exist—we may just haven’t discovered them yet. There are many examples of our society employing a new “breakthrough” discovery which was supposed to be harmless to humans only to later discover the negative consequences. A prime example is DDT. When DDT was invented, it was hailed as the miracle pesticide. Only later was it discovered that DDT caused the shells of birds’ eggs, including Bald Eagles, to become so thin that they broke before the chick could hatch. |
Other examples are cigarettes and asbestos. It was many years before it was discovered how these substance negatively affected our health. Part of the difficulty is that it took years for symptoms to appear and many more years before scientists were able to make a connection. While I’m not saying there is a connection, at this point no one knows whether or not getting asthma, obesity, autism, heart disease, etc. might be related to EMFs. If there is a connection, like smoking cigarettes, it might not show up for 20 to 40 years. |
The World Health Organization (WHO) has been conducting research on EMFs since 1996 in conjunction with the FDA. As an example, some of their studies have reported that low frequency electromagnetic field exposure may suppress secretion of melatonin and that it may be a carcinogen for childhood leukemia.
In fact, the studies concluded that there was sufficient evidence from the childhood leukemia research to classify ELF magnetic fields as a "possible human carcinogen". WHO states that it will take years to determine if there are other definitive long-term effects to EMF exposure. Since their website contains dozens of "white paper" and fact sheets where you can find the above statements, you can go to:

Besides the positive impact on golfers, I have personally received very positive feedback from people who have purchased a Q-Link from me. So… I will continue to wear my Q-Link and continue to recommend it to others.* In fact, I'm offering a special Package, especially for couples - 2 Q-Links at my lowest price ever.....

Stimulating Stem Cell Production |
The Problem:
The human body needs ongoing quality nutrition to maintain its health. However, nutrition alone does not rebuild the body by generating new tissues, bones, organs or other systems. As you may be aware, science has recently discovered the only cells known to actually rebuild the body are your own adult stem cells. If they are not being released into the bloodstream, as they should be, you may suffer deficient health. |
Traditional supplements nourish existing cells but they do not create perfect cells. And, the same is true of medicines. They alter or aid the body’s response to health issues. Neither supplements nor drugs rebuild any part of the body. However, now there is something that will. |
The Solution:
For those of you who want to improve your health, or create optimum health while addressing the effects of aging, injury, or day to day wear and tear, an increased release of your existing stem cells into the bloodstream can produce huge benefits. A new product, StemEnhance, (that I highly recommend) will dramatically increase the number of adult stem cells released into the body by 25-35% within an hour and a half after you take the tablets. To hear more about StemEnhance, you can call a Toll Free Number 1-877-829-5210. It will only take you a few minutes to get excited about the possibilities of this product. |
