Volume 2 #8 - August 2003
Dr. Teplitz - the "Energy
Doctor"!
Here is the latest issue of the Teplitz Email Report. Enjoy it.
There's Now a West
Niles Virus Blood Test
Time magazine just reported that there is an FDA approved blood test to
check for West Niles virus. If it does test positive, then you'll need to
have more comprehensive testing done to confirm the results. If you think
you've been exposed to West Nile virus, see your doctor immediately.

Heal Stomach
Ulcers Without Drugs
Researchers reported in PNAS May 28, 2002, that broccoli sprouts can kill
the bacteria, H. pylori, that causes ulcers. It has a chemical in it called
sulforaphane and kills this tough little bug wherever it hides. The best
ones are under the brand name Brocco Sprouts which has 20 times higher
levels than the vegetable broccoli.
I guess the first President Bush was giving the wrong advice of don't eat
broccoli.
Last month in the article I wrote where I "Recommended Lemon Juice to Heal
Cuts and Scrapes." Well, I've used lemon juice three times since last month
and I've been amazed at the rapid healing from using it. I've even used it
on a long scrape on my arm that I didn't bandage. I've been applying it 4 to
6 times a day. It's been easy to do even when I'm traveling as all I need to
do is ask in a restaurant for a piece of lemon.
The only thing is that there is a little sting for a few minutes when you
first apply it; otherwise, I'm convinced!

A New Option
for Women - Freeze Those Benign Breast Lumps
A study published in the American Journal of Surgery reported that extreme
cold therapy on the most common forms of benign breast tumors caused a 92%
reduction in size after one year. This treatment appears to be quicker,
easier and more comfortable than any other method available. It also leaves
smaller scars.
To me this is now the treatment of choice to get rid of benign breast
tumors. If your doctor doesn't offer this option, find another doctor.

Now Men Can Get a Little
Mad
Researchers from Harvard reported in Psychosomatic Medicine that it's
healthy for men to get angry and express it once in a while. Notice the key
words are "once in a while" which means this is not license to blow up at
everything in your life. The researchers found a 50% lower risk of heart
attack as well as a lower risk of stroke for men who got a little mad versus
those who never let out their anger.
To me this figures, since anger that is suppressed all the time will wind up
being stored somewhere in the body, and the heart and circulatory system
make good candidates. There is another way of discharging your angor without
having to express it and that can be by exercising, meditating or talking it
out with a close friend.
Another way is to use the Brain Gym movement exercises Hook-ups and Positive
Points in my book Brain Gym for Business. With these techniques you can
discharge the negative charge from your thoughts in less than 2 minutes. You
can go to my website at https://teplitz.com/books.htm for ordering
information.
If You Have Become
a Care Giver, You've Have Got To Exercise
Researchers at Stanford University had 51 women who were taking care of
family members with Alzheimer's disease exercise 3 to 4 times a week for 30
minutes. Most of them chose walking. A number of these women were working
outside the house as well as spending 71 hours per week in care giving. The
women reported less stress, more energy, and lower blood pressure.
So.even though finding the time can be difficult, fitting exercise into your
day can make a real difference in how you handle the stress of care giving.
Another option is a music tape by Steven Halpern called Coping Skills for
Care Givers that you can play an hour a day. You can order it at my website
at
https://teplitz.com/books.htm.
