Dr. Teplitz - the "Energy Doctor"!
Here is the latest issue of the Teplitz Email Report. Enjoy it.
How Hard Should
Your Mattress Be?
Finally, a study published in Lancet analyzed how hard a mattress should be.
We've all been told the harder the firmer. Orthopedic physicians will even
recommend a firm mattress to alleviate low-back pain. In this study they had
133 people with cronic low-back pain sleep on either a firm or medium-firm
mattress for three months.
Surprisingly, the medium-firm mattress won! The patients who slept on the
medium-firm mattress were twice as likely as those sleeping on the firm ones
to report reduced pain while lying in bed or getting up in the morning. They
also had less disability associated with back pain and were less reliant on
pain-killing drugs.

Options If You
Are Pre-hypertensive
Subscriber, Chris Rasmussen, emailed about his having prehypertension, which
is moving towards high blood pressure.. Here's what he did to solve the
difficulties:
"I began taking CoEnzyme Q10, proanthocyanidin (Grape Seed extract),
Pycnogenol, Coral Calcium...along with my normal Vitamin C and multivitamin.
Within a month or two, I was back to a healthy normal -- maybe a higher
systolic due to my caffeine intake, but my diastolic has been perfect."
Chris also heard me speak about a year ago and here's what he said "I saw
you when you were in Pittsburgh last, and have been amazing myself and
others with the muscle testing."
Thanks for you insights, Chris.

Men Need Social
Networks To Live Longer
Time Magazine reported a study of more than 800 men and women and found that
socially isolated men ages 70 to 79 appear to be at greater risk of heart
disease than men with more robust social networks. There was no link that
they could find with women, heart disease and social networks.
So...for men, you want to keep those friendships going as you age and
develop new ones for your health.

All Drugs Are Not The
Same
While I don't normally recommend drugs, for those of you who are inclined to
take a drug to lower your cholesterol, you need to be aware of a study which
compared the statin Lipitor and Pravacol. The researcher were surprised to
find that after 18 monthst Lipitor lowered cholesterol levels more than
Pravachol (79 vs. 110). Lipitor also had a measurable effect on the buildup
of plaque in the patients' arteries. It actually stopped the deposits,
developing and may have even shrunk them a little. Pravachol just slowed the
progression of the fatty buildup.
In addition a study at Oxford University found that diabetics who took
statins daily lower the risk of having a first heart attack or stroke by
25%.
Since I do prefer the non-drug route there's another option to cholesterol
drugs and that's taking niacin. Dr. William Campbell Douglas recommends
taking niacin in the form of inositol hexaniacinate. His view is everyone
should be taking 190 mg per day.
If you're diagnosed with high cholesterol then he recommends the following
regimen: Start with 500 mg three times per day for two or three weeks. Then
increase the dosage to 1,000 mg. Once your cholesterol is down to under 280,
cut back to 500 mg three times per day. Once you're down to under 250 , cut
that dose in half. You can find inositol hexaniacinate in most health food
stores.

A Poem For The
Times We Live In
I ran across this poem and thought it appropriate for the
times which we live. It was written hundreds of years ago by the Chinese
philosopher, Lao Tse to explain how each of us is a pathway to peace.
"If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.
If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.
If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.
If there is to be peace in between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart."

How A Baby
Learns
Bruce Lipton shared this information at a seminar he
conducted. He said the way babies learn between birth and age six is based
on their brain wave patterns as measured by EEGs. Babies operate in the
brain wave states of delta and theta. Clinical hypnotherapists refer to this
as the hypnogogic state. This is the state that the client's brain must
reach so that they are susceptible to suggestion.
This means a baby is being programmed by everything that goes on around it.
The baby is making the perceptions and behaviors of his or her parents its
own. These then become the baby's fundamental beliefs and attitudes about
life. So...if you have a baby, keep in mind that what you say and do has an
impact.

Starting January
Will Be My 30th year!
This January will mark my 30th year as a Professional
Speaker. When I started out I thought I'd teach people how to manage their
stress for a couple of years and then everyone would know what to do and I'd
go do something else. Well, guess what, I'm still at it...and its been an
amazing 30 years. To all of you who have been members of my audience, thank
you for allowing me to share what I know with you.

Comments From Readers
Karin Blackhurst recently attended one of my seminars. Here's
what she emailed me "Thank you so very much for sending this (The Teplitz
Email Report). Your class was totally unique. I plan on incorporating all
you taught in my everyday life."
Here's what Betty McDonald wrote me about Steven Halpern's No Smoking
subliminal music CD. "I hired a new employee that smokes 1 pack per day and
talked about quitting. I gave her the CD. She is down to 1/2 pack and can't
stand the smoke from her husband and daughter and won't let them smoke
around her."

Impact of My Golf Video
Seminar
Here's what Thomas J. Ciesielka, owner of
www.1Stop4Golf.com website had to
say about my golf video seminar Par and Beyond: Secrets To Better Golf.
"Being in the golfing business, I see countless golf related products that
promise an immediate improvement in your golf game. It was with this
expectation that I started viewing your Par and Beyond: Secrets To Better
Golf video. However, after only a few minutes, I felt that my presumption
was going to be seriously challenged. And it was!
Even though I am an infrequent golfer, I have seen the benefits when I apply
the techniques in your program. I know this program should be in every
golfer's video library."
So...my golf video or DVD will make a great X-mas gift for the golfer in
your life. The video/DVD regularly sell for $85.00. This month's X-mas
Special Price is only $59.99 plus $7.50 shipping and handling. It even comes
with a 60 day money-back guarantee.
