An Alternative
To An Assisted Living Facility - A Cruise Ship!
Lee Lindquist, M.D. and Robert Golub, M.D. published a comparison
of people who checked into an assisted living facility vs. those
who took a room on a cruise ship. Turns out that the cost is about
the same -$3000 per month - but the cruise ship wins hands down.
On a cruise ship all the meals are provided; you get housekeeping;
medical care is available round the clock; and you'll be escorted
to your meals. On top of all that you get new ports of call to visit
and entertainment every evening. Finally, wouldn't it be much nicer
to visit your loved one on a cruise than in a home? So - if a loved
one needs assisted living, take a closer look at cruising!

Sore
Throat Bothering You?
When you have to do a lot of speaking and your throat is getting
sore, here's a natural and effective remedy recommended by Lisa
Marie Coffey. Use cardamom seeds. Get the whole pods, pop the seeds
out and suck on them like you would hard candy.

Keep Antibiotic Use Down In Children With Ear Inflections
In guidelines published by the American Academy of Pediatrics and
the American Academy of Family Physicians it was reported that each
course of antibiotics given to a child can make future treatments
for ear infections more difficult to treat. In addition, the benefits
of taking antibiotics for ear inflections called acute otitis media
(AOM) is small and must be balanced against the potential harm of
the therapy. About 15% of children who take antibiotics suffer from
diarrhea or vomiting and up to 5% have allergic reactions, which
can be serious or life threatening. To get rid of the pain you can
get a device called Eardoc that provides almost immediate relief.
The Eardoc generates vibrations which are transmitted into the ear
and reduces pressure which allows trapped fluids to drain. To order
it call 800 810-6655. The device is $29.99 plus shipping. So-now
you can vibrate that pain away instead of medicate it.

Becoming
Bacteria Free Is Not Such A Good Idea
The average preschooler carries around 1 to 2 pounds of bacteria
- about 5% of his or her body weight. These bacteria have 3.5 billion
years of experience in resisting and surviving environmental challenges.
In addition, there are many bacteria that are beneficial to our
system. So-the idea of creating a germ-free environment won't solve
our problems. Germs and bacteria also serve a valuable function.
They help to stimulate and train our immune system to fight back.
So-if you have kids think twice before you jump into giving them
antibiotics. You can search my prior Teplitz Email Reports for natural
options when your kids are sick. Just go to https://teplitz.com/ezine.htm.

Question From A Reader On Vitamin Supplements
I received this from Mike Todd: "Many thanks for your monthly report. I always pass it on to select friends and coworkers every month. I have a question. When you suggest supplements it would be extremely useful to know where those nutrients/enzymes/vitamins/proteins are found in fresh fruit and veggies. I believe that the primary source is often vastly superior to any supplement."
Here's my response to Mike. It's a blurb that I wrote in Feb 2001.
Many people think if you eat a diverse diet you're getting all the vitamins and minerals your body needs and that taking supplements is a waste of money.
Well, in the Doctor's Guide to Natural Medicine author Linda Grover states that "in 1948 you could buy spinach that had 158 ug of iron per 100 grams.
By 1964 it had dropped to 27 ug of iron and by 1973 it was 2.2 ug." That means you would have to eat 75 bowls of spinach to get the same amount
of iron that you could get from eating one bowl in 1948.
Also, there are several vitamins and minerals that are hard to get enough of from our foods. They would include Vitamin C, D (especially in the winter in northern climates), E, calcium, zinc and selenium,
If this was a stock market investment, you would have gone belly up many times over. So don't go belly up nutritionally. Make sure you include a daily
high potency vitamin and mineral supplement in your diet. And while you're at it don't forget Vitamins A, E, D & C.
