Using Meditation To Reduce Pain

You can use meditation as a pain relieving tool for the brain and the body.

When you hurt yourself and have pain, the pain comes from your brain and you experience it in your body.

What meditation is doing is reducing brain activity in the primary somatosensory cortex, which is an area that helps create the feeling of where and how intense a painful stimulus is.

Merck Sued For Fraud And The Media Buries The Story

On June 22, 2012 The Wall Street Journal published an article that Merck lied about the true efficacy of its mump vaccine.

Links to the story began to show up on the social media. Suddenly all the links no longer worked.

It almost looked like the story was never published by the Journal. One financial publication had it in its cache so it was still accessible.

There were two class-action lawsuits that had been filed on Merck’s mumps vaccine, which is part of the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine (MMR vaccine). What Merck is being accused of is tampering and falsification of data that was done to hide the fact that the mumps vaccine had significantly declined in effectiveness. This information would threaten its monopoly over the vaccine market.

It turns out three days after the story appeared in The Wall Street Journal, there was a meeting of the Journals “elite” network of CFOs from the world’s top corporation and Merck’s CFO sits on the executive council. Was the pulling of the story and Merck being on the executive council tied together? Fortunately, the lawsuits are going forward even though the media is ignoring it.

Time Magazine Has Special Exposé On Why Medical Bills Are Killing Us

Time just published in its March 2, 2013 issue a very long and involved story on the ins and outs of how we are all individually and as a country being overcharged for medical care in the US. As you may know, we pay the highest amount for medical costs and are nowhere near the top as compared with other developed countries in the positive outcomes patients have.

Just to give you an example. Hospitals figure the amount to be charged for every small and large procedure and every item used in the hospital by using a coding book called the Chargemaster. That’s all well and good, but this rate is more of a highly inflated imaginary rate in that the hospitals negotiate from this amount downward for insurance companies and Medicare patients. However, this full rate is charged to people who don’t have insurance, people whose insurance doesn’t the cover procedures or people who have gone over their insurance companies limits of coverage.

These people are not told that the Chargemaster is just a starting rate and that they can negotiate down from it. The average person could wind up with a bill for hundreds of thousands of dollars instead of the Medicare rate which might be hundreds or a few thousand of dollars. Since just understanding what’s on a medical bill can be overwhelming there are now folks you can find who are medical-bill advocates. These advocates know how the system works and can potentially get an absurd bill reduced down to a more reasonable level.

 

Two Ways to Help Stop Pain (DMSO & Prolotherapy)

Rub DMSO On And Get Pain Relief
According to Dr. Julian Whitaker Dimethyl silfoxide (DMSO) is a great way to stop any kind of joint or muscle pain.

When you rub DMSO on the skin, it is quickly absorbed into the deeper tissues. DMSO is a potent anti-inflammatory that stops pain.

You need to rub a small amount into the affected area until it is absorbed. Repeat two or three times a day. Just be aware that it can have a sulfur smell.

Another Way To Stop Pain – Prolotherapy
Prolotherapy is another way to stop pain. It involves injecting a substance that is not a drug but creates irritation into areas of the back, neck, knee and shoulder that are in pain.

Almonds Have Earned The Claim That It Protects Your Heart

Dhe FDA has given almonds a qualified health claim that it protects the heart when you eat 11/2 ounces a day.

Now, the difficulty has been that this totaled only 12 whole almonds, and you might not be able to stop at 12.

This has now changed. Recently, food scientists discovered that almonds have 32 fewer calories than previously thought.

So…how about a big bunch of (chocolate) covered almonds, yummy!

Chocolate - Better Than Statin Drugs To Prevent Heart Disease And It Tastes Wonderful, Too!

While statin medications lower heart disease risk in those without known heart problems, it’s only by 1.2%. Eating a small square of chocolate daily was 25 times more effective in protecting you from heart problems, In addition, there are no side effects and it tastes GREAT!

The research that confirmed this was done with 5000 people and it found that people who ate chocolate five times a week had a 57% lower risk of heart disease when compared with people who didn’t each chocolate.
So…let me at that chocolate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
