What
Pro Athletes Do To Heal
So,
what do professional athletes do when they get injured in order to heal
quicker? To understand the answer to this question, let’s examine what
Peyton Manning does when he is injured. For those who don’t know
Manning, after having played football for 18 seasons, he was the winning
quarterback in this last Super Bowl at age 39. Over the years he’s
had many injuries.
So,
let’s see what he does to heal. In 2011, Manning flew to Germany for
stem cell therapy treatments for his neck. You can now get stem cell
therapy in the US by having your own stem cells injected into the injury
site. It’s quick, safe and requires little or no down time.
For
us, stem cell therapy could be used to treat degenerative arthritis, neck
and back pain. It can also be used intravenously for COPD, Parkinson’s
and autoimmune diseases.
Manning
received hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to speed healing by flooding the
body with 100% oxygen. The oxygen reduces edema and swelling and mobilizes
stem cells. It kills off bacteria and boosts the bodies healing abilities.
HBOT can also enhance regeneration and brain health.
For
us, we can use HBOT for recover from injuries, surgery, strokes,
Parkinson’s, MS, diabetic ulcers, neuropathy and arterial disease.
Manning
was treated with enhanced external counter pulsation (EECP). EECP prompts
the release of nitric oxide which dilates the arteries, increases
circulation and triggers the formation of new blood vessels. Each
treatment provides many of the same benefits as intensive exercise.
For
us, it can treat artery disease, heart failure, relieve angina, reduce
nitroglycerin requirements and strengthen the heart muscle, which is
similar to having a natural bypass.
In
addition to stem cell therapy, another healing method involves using human
growth hormones. While Manning has denied accusations of using this
method, human growth hormone can also be a powerful healer. It encourages
cell growth, tissue repair, and increases muscle mass and bone
mineralization. It can help the elderly by building strength and stamina.
So,
these are the things Manning and many pro athletes use to heal quickly.
Since it works for them, how about insurance companies cover these
therapies for the rest of us?

The
5 Keys To Employees Success
Google
did a study on employee success and found there are 5 key traits by
interviewing 200 Google employees.
The 5
key dynamics for a successful team are:
- Psychological
Safety. Team members feel safe to take risks and be vulnerable in
front of each other.
- Dependability.
Team members get things done on time and meet Google’s high bar for
excellence.
- Structure
& Clarity. Team members have clear roles, plans and goals.
- Meaning.
Work is personally important to team members.
- Impact.
Team members think their work matters and creates change.
This
data from Google matches a study published in the Academy
of Management Journal by the University Of Notre Dame. So…are you
following these traits with your teams?

A Way To Increase Calcium Absorption
Recent
research has shown that increasing your calcium intake with a supplement
doesn’t increase bone density in older adults. There’s another way to
increase bone density by adding Vitamin K2 to your diet or by
supplementation. In a study reported in the British
Medical Journal, researchers found that Vitamin K2 improved bone
density and reduced fractures in women with osteoporosis.
While
you can get Vitamin K2 from egg yolks, grass-fed butter, hard cheeses and
dark chicken meat, you can also take a 100 mcg supplement. Another bonus
is that Vitamin K2 helps Vitamin D3 to be absorbed and distributed more
effectively in the body.

Exercise
Is A Way To Fight Cancer
You
don’t usually think of fighting cancer by exercising. A paper
published in the journal Medicine
& Science in Sports & Exercise reviewed more than 100
epidemiological studies on the role of physical activity in cancer
prevention. They found that physically active men and women hade a 30 to
40% reduction in the risk of developing colon cancer while women at risk
for breast cancer reduced this risk by about 20 to 30%.
A
recent study in Cell
Metabolism showed that active mice experienced a 50% reduction in
tumor growth compared to inactive mice. It seems that adrenaline from high
intensity exercise circulates natural immune cells into tumors in the
lung, liver and skin where they kill off and eliminate the cancerous
cells.
Another
study found that cancer patients who exercised reported a significantly
better quality of life as compared to the non-exercising control groups.
They had higher self-esteem and physical functioning, less fatigue,
reduced length of hospital stays and fewer doctor’s visits.
Several
cancer organizations are now recommending cancer patient’s exercise for
2.5 hours per week. So…now’s the time to put exercise together with
cancer treatment.

New
Type Of Pill With No Gag Reflex
If
you’re one of the 40% of people who have difficulty taking pills,
there’s an answer coming. The pills are 3-D printed, which allows the
ingredients to be laid down layer by layer. This means that they can
custom build a drug for what you need, how quickly you need it absorbed
and how long you need it to stay in your system.
Because
the pills are more porous, they rapidly disintegrate with a sip of liquid
no matter how big the dose. This type of pill should begin showing up this
year.

Happiness
Affects Your Health
Being
happy can impact you’re getting diagnosed with heart disease. A 2013
study by Johns Hopkins University of more than 1,000 healthy people who
were compared with siblings with heart disease before age 60 found that
contentment or happiness were key factors for the difference between the
two groups. The happiest among the healthy group were 33% less likely to
have heart disease. Even the contented siblings that had the highest risk
of getting heart disease were 48% less likely to develop coronary artery
disease compared to the siblings who had heart disease.
Another
study from Harvard School of Public Health analyzed 8,000 healthy British
civil servants found that life satisfaction in four areas of life - job,
family, sex life and self, is associated with protection from heart
disease. Those who were high in these areas were less likely to have
a heart attack within 5 years than those whose life satisfaction was low.
So…the title to the song C’mon
On Get Happy has a powerful message for all of us to think about
emulating.

Being In The Sun is
Finally Getting Recognized As Important For Our Health
You’ve
heard it again and again that it’s important to stay out of the sun, to
only be in the sun with sun screen and to make sure you are covered up.
Well, there’s now a major kink in that argument. Kaiser Permanente in
their March 10, 2016 newsletter stated that this advice to avoid the sun
may be misguided. “Our increasing knowledge about Vitamin D, the sun and
how they affect our immune system has us re-thinking the recommendation to
avoid the sun completely.”
They
go on to report that many studies suggest that sun exposure and maximizing
Vitamin D levels play a role in decreasing risks of at least 16 different
types of cancer including lung, pancreatic, breast, ovarian, prostate and
colon cancers. Even if you take a supplement it’s still a good idea to
get some sunshine on your body.
If
you do supplement with vitamin D, make sure it’s Vitamin D3. You’ll
also want to take 100 mcg of Vitamin K2 as to helps the D to function
properly in the body. So…bring on that sunshine and let me feel it on my
skin!
