Fascinating Ways The Brain Operates
The brain has difficulty consciously managing too much new information at once. This means that it’s better to chunk new information into groupings of 7 ideas or less. Think telephone numbers which have 7 digits. On the flip side our brain has trillions of neurons firing scores of times per second. The brain is capable of multiprocessing over 36,000 visual cues per hour. Most of this processing is at the subconscious level.
While the brain only makes up 2% of our body mass it uses 20 to 44% of our energy. It does this by burning energy 7.5 times faster than the rest of the body. Our brain is made up of mostly water (78%), some fat (10%) and a little protein (8%). Just one more reason why it’s so important to drink enough water.

Gyms For Those 50 and Older
The fitness industry has realized that people over 50 don’t consider themselves old and also may not be excited about working out with younger folks. However, there are now several companies that specialize in the over 50 crowd. The goal is to create an environment in which people feel comfortable to exercise. The staff is even trained to help older people exercise without injuring themselves. Some of the companies are Nifty After Fifty and Club 50. So…another excuse for not exercising bites the dust!
Addictions Really Affect The Brain
There was an article published in July’s Time magazine about the impact of addiction on the brain. Researchers discovered that the brain of an addict, whether drugs or alcohol, has no activity in the front part of the brain where we plan, do abstract thinking and regulate our impulsive behaviors. The parts of the brain that showed activity were related to having uncontrollable cravings. This means that addicts might be less adept at using the rationale mind to resist their addiction. The researchers found that it took about 90 days for the front part of the brain even to begin firing again, allowing the person to begin resisting their addiction.
This concept of a 90-day rehabilitation model goes along with what Alcoholics Anonymous recommends for a new member. It is also the duration of a typical stint at a drug treatment program. To me, this means the longer a person refrains from his or her addictions, the more the brain comes on-line to assist in being able to further resist the addictions.
Use Vitamin D To Help Prevent Multiple Sclerosis
In a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, researchers found that white men and woman in the US Military with the highest blood levels of Vitamin D were 62% less likely to develop multiple sclerosis. Since there were few blacks or Hispanics in the group studied, it is unclear whether the results apply to those groups. The researchers also found that the MS risk was especially strong in people who were younger than 20 when they entered the study. This means Vitamin D exposure before adulthood could be particularly important.
This may mean that avoiding exposure to the sun and the use of sunscreen may be contributing to the MS rate. Consider spending 20 minutes in the sun without using sunscreen on or take a Vitamin D supplement.
Mental Tool For Golfers
I’ve run across a mental learning system that really complements my DVD Par and Beyond: Secrets To Better Golf. It’s a great Mental Training tool developed by Dr. Fran Pirozzolo, called GolfMind Software.
Dr. Pirozzolo has appeared on the Golf Channel many times with Jim McLean. He is recognized as one of the top golf psychologists in the world.

Feedback From Seminar Given 25 Years Ago
I recently received a pleasant surprise on the long-time impact of my seminars. I received an email from Susan Chandler who heard me speak about 25 years ago. Here’s what she said, “We met in Houston, Texas about 25 years ago. I attended your seminar and drove you to the airport. Well, I want you to know how the information I received from that day has continued to improve the quality of my life. Particularly the Kinesiology.”
Feedback From Seminar Given Three Years Ago
This month appears to have been feedback month for me. Here’s an email I received from Marie Johnson. “I sat in your audience at the RCMA Conference in January 2004. I was in awe with the information you presented on Kinesiology, tapping into our personal energy and the power of prayer. Of course, when I returned home, I immediately signed up for your e-letter and look forward to each new edition and the possibility of attending one of your seminars in the future. I could benefit from so many of them.”

Here are some of the comments we’ve received on the impact of the seminars:
RESULTS WERE INSTANTANEOUS
"The day after the seminar the results were instantaneous. We closed 7 contracts, more than we had done during the preceding 8 months. By the end of the week, we had 18 signed contracts."
– Serge Gravelle, Largo, FL
NOW TOP AGENT IN THE OFFICE
"Before I completed your course, I was averaging one insurance sale a week, then afterwards it went to 2.5 sales a week. After five months of maintaining this level, I changed companies and my sales increased even more dramatically. After my first five weeks, I was the top agent in the office."
- Veda Stone, Insurance Agent
I only hold these public seminars once or twice a year, so take advantage of this opportunity to attend one of the seminars or instructor trainings and vacation in Virginia Beach at the same time!
